God didn’t have to create humans as male and female, but the fact is, He did and the Bible tells us “and it was good!” He created them not just with inherent differences, but with a divinely intentional complementarity so that each supplies what the other lacks, so that together they can image forth their Creator God. At a cultural moment where these differences are being blurred and erased, Christians have a unique opportunity to celebrate the good of God’s design for humanity, not apologize for it or be embarrassed by it.

This Summer, we’ll be holding two Weekenders, one on June 23-24 and the other on July 21-22. These weekenders will be designed to equip us, not merely to defend Biblical complementarianism, but also to help us navigate the complexities of sexual confusion in our world and in those we love. They will also celebrate God’s design for gender as it is expressed in the home and in the church. As we say in our 7 Shared Values: "As the redeemed community of God, the church has a unique opportunity and responsibility to celebrate this complementarity, to contend for it against cultural hostility, and to protect it from sinful distortions.” We hope to accomplish that in these classes through teaching (provided by our church leadership) as well as interaction (through Q&A with class participants).
